Is this an Eye Opener

Just the other day (on Wednesday) my good old friend updated his facebook status this was "It feels good to be a father, am gonna be a father soon". This status caught me by surprise when i asked the pal about it through a commented and he told me its for real.

I then made a mental note to myself to call him for clarification. That day passed, a second one passed, a second one passed even without realizing, the third day also passed even without realizing and on the fourth day i gave him this call. Guess what, this story wad for real, my pal's girlfriend was just a month pregnant for him!!!

What a tensed filled moment, mixed feelings and thoughts for him. After 2 days of debate from within i decided call the lady who is also a good friend of mine. The  lady also confirmed everything to me.

He is my college friend and a business partner too, ready to start a family soon. Am i late or is he too early??? Might this be an eye opener??

Just thinking loudly.

Accountants seek review of their law

Accountants are seeking to review the law governing them to ensure that every person practising the profession is a member of the group.
A planned amendment to the Accountants Act that was enacted in 2008, will bring all accountants in the country under the Institute of Certified Public Accountants (ICPAK).
“Further, any person wishing to provide accountancy services must also be a member of the institute,” said ICPAK chairman Benson Okundi in a special announcement last week.
It will also seek for a re-classification of institute membership, creating a new category for students and technicians to eliminate incidents of illegal practitioners.
ICPAK vice chair Rosemary Gituma said profession had been ambiguously defined to include book-keeping, financial accounting, auditing, forensic auditing, taxation and financial management.
She said companies and institutions should consider outsourcing accounting services in major projects instead of solely relying on in-house staff.
This will lead to faster implementation of projects as in-house accountants are relieved of the responsibility of managing financial aspects of special projects besides running their normal duties.
She said currently, most firms outsource project managers, quantity surveyors, architects and engineers even when such professionals are within the organisation but overlook the aspect of outsourcing financial expertise.

White Widow Samantha Lewthwaite 'planning new wave of revenge attacks' after death of Abubaker Shariff Ahmed 'Makaburi'

Revenge: Abubaker Shariff Ahmed and Samantha Lewthwaite
White Widow Samantha Lewthwaite was last night feared to be planning a new wave of attacks against Westerners in revenge for the killing of her terror teacher .
Al-Qaeda leader Sheikh Abubakar Shariff Ahmed is believed to have recruited hundreds of Brits - including Lewthwaite, her pal Jermaine Grant, who is on trial accused of bomb plots, and Lee Rigby’s killer Michael Adebolajo.
But Ahmed – known as Makaburi, meaning “graveyard” – was gunned down in Mombasa, Kenya, on Tuesday, just moments after he appeared in public to support five youths accused of being part of the terror group al-Shabaab.
Today we can also reveal how the hate preacher exclusively spoke to the Mirror last year and predicted his own death at the hands of the Kenyan government.
Intelligence sources fear mum-of-four Lewthwaite also blames the Kenyan authorities for the death of her mentor and will retaliate with attacks on Western targets across Africa.
A senior security source said: “International security services are on high alert after this latest bloody development. Makaburi was always believed to be at the very top of the hierarchy of terror organisation al-Shabaab.
“He had considerable influence over the recruitment and ideology of the group and most certainly had a hand in international operations.
“Intelligence suggests Makaburi introduced Samantha Lewthwaite to many influential figures within the al-Shabaab network – he guided her path to Jihad.
“This will be seen as yet another act of war and could spectacularly backfire on the Kenyan government if they are found to be responsible for his death.”
GettyAbubaker Shariff Ahmed
Bloody ending: Makaburi's body is taken from the scene

The source added: “Lewthwaite and her associates will want revenge.”
Intelligence sources have claimed a Kenyan hit-squad trained by Israeli Special Forces shot Makaburi.
But officials in Nairobi insisted Lewthwaite, 29, ordered the murder due to a power struggle within al-Shabaab.
But it is believed the pair remained close and were even in contact in recent months – despite Lewthwaite being the “world’s most wanted woman”.
Lewthwaite, a suspect in bomb plots across East Africa, fled Britain following the death of her husband, 7/7 London suicide bomber Germaine Lindsay .
Makaburi is believed to have taken Lewthwaite in and introduced her to a network of contacts in East Africa.
After years of openly praising violence in the name of Jihad, Makaburi was finally slaughtered by, “men in white robes” and left riddled with bullets next to a ditch.
A witness claimed Makaburi’s corpse was taken to the Masjid Musa mosque in Majengo, Mombasa – the place where the 45-year-old was suspected of meeting and mentoring Lewthwaite, Grant and Adebolajo.
His unwashed body was buried in his bloodstained clothes “to show he died as a martyr in the holy war”.
Abubaker Shariff Ahmed
Terror: Abubaker Shariff Ahmed was also known by the name Makaburi, meaning grave yard

If the Kenyan government ordered his execution, Makaburi was correct when he predicted his own death in a previously unpublished Mirror interview.
We can also reveal how he labelled David Cameron and Barack Obama terrorists and praised Woolwich killer Michael Adebolajo for, “avenging the deaths of innocent Muslims”.
For the last few months of his life Makaburi was effectively in hiding 24 hours a day and battling three separate court cases, in which he was accused of being a senior recruiter for al-Shabaab.
His friend Sheikh Aboud Rogo – another firebrand cleric – was assassinated in August 2012, as was successor Sheikh Ibrahim Rogo in October 2013.
But Makaburi was defiant in the face of death when he spoke to the Mirror just days after the bloody terror attacks at Nairobi’s Westgate mall in September.
At this hideout in the no-go area of Shanzu, Mombasa, he said: “I am doing nothing illegal.
Samantha Lewthwaite
White Widow: Samantha Lewthwaite

"My government wants to kill me – tried to kill me. Killed my friend and I am the terrorist?
“I am not the terrorist. To me, al-Shabaab is not the terrorist.
“I am a law-abiding citizen in my own country. If I have views, that is my right to have views, so why I am being targeted?
"You cannot go attacking Muslim countries and not expect another Muslim country not to help them.
"If somebody does that you term him as a terrorist. But you are the one going around countries attacking them.
“That is what England is doing, that is what America and France is doing. And that is reality – there is no simpler way of putting it”.
Makaburi and Lewthwaite, who became the most-wanted woman after Interpol issued an arrest warrant for her capture, are believed to have met in 2010 in Mombasa.
When asked about his association with her, he replied: “It would be very difficult for a lady to join al-Shabaab.
"Those people are living Islamically.”
But perhaps tellingly, he added: “Any woman would have to have a maharam [a chaperone].
“They would not allow a lady without a maharam to mingle amongst them. A lady is not allowed to travel without a maharam.”
Jermaine Grant
Suspected: Jermaine Grant is accused of ties to Somalia's Al-Qaeda-linked Shebab

Makaburi, who had been on a watch list for the past five years after the US government branded him a terrorist , continued defiantly: “Why isn’t David Cameron and Barack Obama being labelled as terrorists?
“They are the ones instructing wars on foreign soil.”
Makaburi denied allegations of being an al-Shabaab recruiter and claimed he was merely “helping” the young men who came to him for spiritual guidance.
He said: “Many young boys come here looking for help.
"They come to me and I’m termed as a recruiter for al-Shabaab, but who have I recruited?”
One of those “young boys” was Michael Adebolajo, 29, who, with vile accomplice Michael Adebowale, hacked soldier Lee Rigby to death in Woolwich, South East London.
Makaburi defended him and said: “He was avenging the deaths of innocent Muslims who are nothing to the West.”
A security source last night reiterated the warning that the terror boss’s death could have devastating consequences.
The source said: “Makaburi’s death will be celebrated in certain quarters but he will be a martyr for tens of thousands of terrorists and sympathisers.”
