ACCOUNTANT REQUIRED


The Coffee Board of Kenya (CBK) is a State Corporation established under the Coffee Act No. 9 of 2001.
The Board is a non- Profit, Regulatory & Service oriented, Corporate body under the Ministry of Agriculture & is charged with the responsibility of promoting competitiveness in the Coffee Industry, Production, Processing and Branding of Kenyan Coffee and generally to regulate the Coffee Industry in the Public interest. The board wishes to advertise the following current vacant position.

a.) Duties and Responsibilities
This is a Permanent & Pensionable position. 
Reporting to the Head- Finance, an officer at this level will be responsible for:.
1) Originating support documents for financial transactions
2) Maintenance of support registers under direction
3) Assist in preparation & Verification of vouchers and committal documents in accordance with laid down rules and regulations
4) Assist in reconciling subsidiary ledger tallies with the General Ledger
5) Assist in safe custody of Board records and assets under him/her
6) Undertake Bank reconciliations
7) Assist in preparation of Payroll
8) Assist in reconciling the levy remission and balances reports
9) Undertake any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
b.) Requirements for Appointment
For appointment to this position, applicant must:-
(i) Have a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce or Business Administration (Accounting or Finance option),
Business from a recognized institution or a related equivalent qualification.
(ii) Have a Certified Public Accountants (CPA II) or its equivalent
(iii) Be of high integrity
(iv) Be fluent in English and Kiswahili, and
(v) Be computer literate.
